Pursuant to the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, we inform that the administrator of personal data is the Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences with its registered office in Warsaw (10-248) at 5 Jana Kazimierza Str. Data are collected for the needs of current recruitment and taking action before the conclusion of the contract, and in the case of expressing an explicit and voluntary consent by the applicant also for the needs of future recruitment. Applicants have the right to access their data and correct it. Providing data in the scope specified by the provisions of the Act of 26 June 1974. The Labor Code and executive acts are voluntary but necessary for recruitment. Providing additional personal data is voluntary and requires explicit consent.

will hire

research assistant

in the Department of Language Modelling

part-time (1/4) position / 12 months

Persons eligible for the competition are those who meet the terms specified in the Act of 30 April 2010 on the Polish Academy of Sciences (Dz. U. (Polish Journal of Laws), 2019, Item. 1183).

Document submission deadline: by February 10, 2026.

Candidates to the above position should meet the following conditions:

  • having the academic degree of M.Sc. in linguistics or a related field;
  • interest, confirmed by a diploma thesis and/or publications, in corpus linguistics, inclusive language and neology;
  • willingness to participate in the institute's promotional activities, confirmed by the list of previous activities of this kind;
  • individual scientific development plan within the research profile of the Department of Language Modeling;
  • fluent knowledge of English.

Applications should include:

  1. application for the job (motivation letter)1,
  2. professional scientific CV including past achievements and accomplishments (publications, conferences, research, scholarships, awards, experience, participation in workshops, trainings, scientific projects etc.),
  3. certified copy of a document confirming the M.Sc. degree of the candidate or equivalent,
  4. list of promotional activities,
  5. a research proposal consistent with the profile of the Department's activities, which the candidate intends to pursue, including the topic of the planned publication and project proposal to be developed during the period of employment,
  6. declaration of the candidate's acceptance of the competition conditions in force in ICS PAS,
  7. declaration of the candidate's acceptance, that in case of success, he will submit a statement on conducting scientific activity in the ICS PAS discipline in the field of information and communication technology and submits a statement authorizing ICS PAS to include him in the number of employees conducting scientific research in the field of linguistics, for evaluating the quality of business Scientific (pursuant to Article 265 (4) and Article 265 (5) of the Act of 30 August 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science, Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668, as amended as amended).

Applications will be considered by Competition Board appointed by the Director of ICS PAS.
